The HawkEye Effect, in collaboration with SICK AG, developed LaserGuardian, an award-winning security technology that combines the capabilities of HawkEye’s unique software with SICK laser scanners to enable the creation of a virtual wall, floor and ceiling within each designated security zone as illustrated by the image below:
Security integrators can use LaserGuardian to create a highly customizable perimeter security solution specific to each client’s needs. And it effectively and efficiently interfaces with most video management systems to provide a highly seamless means to manage perimeter security. LaserGuardian can either be used in complement with an existing traditional camera-reliant security system or can be configured as a standalone solution depending on a client’s security objectives and strategies.
The underlying technological premise for LaserGuardian is straightforward: The SICK laser scanner(s) emits a plane of light from which data is gathered via HawkEye’s proprietary software. The plane of light creates perimeters (virtual ceilings/floors/walls) around a defined radius be it a building or an object. The software interprets the data gathered from each laser in the network and converts it into visually based information to act upon.
